The group meets monthly at the organiser’s home, usually on the afternoon of the second Wednesday.

The aim of the group continues to be an expansion of awareness, knowledge and enjoyment of music. Its focus is largely, but not exclusively, on classical music recorded on CD. On alternate months, the format of meetings involves listening to, and discussing, a concert chosen and presented by a member of the group. Most of the other meetings explore the progressive development of western music using illustrative examples. Thus far, the group has taken forward this chronology into the Romantic period and is currently exploring the music of the early to mid 19th century. In addition, the group has established a tradition of a medley session for the final meeting of the year. The group also keeps under review local concerts and performances of possible interest to members.
