Walking Group 1 has been active since 2012 and welcomes new members. The Group walks twice a month. Members of the group take it in turns to lead the walks, usually not more than 5 miles. Members are contacted by e-mail with the date and time of the walk with details of where to meet and the likely conditions. When the starting point is further afield details are given of bus routes and times and where to park.

As well as enjoying walks in towns and villages, the countryside and by the sea the Group likes to socialise. Sometimes the Group will stop for coffee/tea etc. and on occasion meets together at the end of the walk for lunch.

Very occasionally a walk is cancelled because of inclement weather but we have been fortunate over the years as this has rarely happened.

Overall the Group enjoys a variety of walks and the opportunity to get together.
